Kinda feeling like a lab rat right now. [ stupid jogging in a labyrinth ]
[ they turn! right into fork in the road! i hope claude is keeping track of these. cloud is too but he is not sharing currently. ]
Anyone ever tell you not to say it could be worse?
[ you know how some mazes have traps "do they" you know this very common fact about mazes having traps, well this one does too! a pit of spikes in this dead end. get it? it's a dead end? cloud's stop is very abrupt. let them bump into each other ]
[ CLOUD DON'T JUST STOP Claude's half marking the wall half looking where he's running, so yeah, he does bump into Cloud. ]

[ He jerks forward, awkwardly flailing but managing to grip the cobblestone wall, and reaching out to try and grab Cloud's shirt with the other hand. ]
[ cloud is solid but claude is tall and going fast and also, it's funnier this way, so him running into him does make cloud stumble a little too close to the edge for anyone's comfort with deadly spikes. luckily he grabs onto him and cloud also like, tries to fucking leap back so it's just more stumbling onto each other in a very small area of the maze, for hilarity. ]
Wrong way. Why are there traps? Monster not enough?
[ They stumble around each other, trying to step on one another's feet while also not tumble back into the spike pit and by the time they've gotten themselves turn around the hall seems darker.
Darker on one end specifically, where a massive, shadowy beast lurks, hard enough to see in the darkness of the maze that it almost seems like it's taking up the entire corridor. ]

[ LOOK anyway, Claude is running now, but still carefully enough that he's taking in their surroundings, keeping an eye on the markings on the wall.
They reach another fork, making a turn. ]
