[ cloud is out in the courtyard! sometimes you want to feel like you are outside but you hold a grudge against the current location for all the clown doors you have seen. he's sitting near the flowers, looking out at them and looking frankly exhausted. for a mysterious reason. so mysterious.
he's not trying to hide or anything, so he'll greet jiji with a nod when he spots him ]
[ he looks at the cups and then back to jiji, something a little confused in his stare before he picks the left cup ]
... Drank enough yesterday. She'd be pissed if I got drunk now, anyway.
[ maybe, maybe not. he thinks she'd just judge him, probably, but it's as good an excuse as any. he's not as much of a drinker as he pretends to be, if he is honest. ]
[ jiji have higher standards. cloud says it a little awkward and unsure but it's more about the sentiment being new. he looks out at the flowers for a little while before offering; ]
They're not that bad. My, uh. My thoughts. You don't have to worry about that.
We've got six more weeks. Plenty of time to figure out a way to get out of here with everyone, dead, hostage, whatever, and show them just where they can shove that contract.
Curious wording... given prior experiences where the souls of the departed are held somewhere before returning to the living... mostly. [thots happened]
But I do not know how much we can ensure that process from this side.
Ha ha ha... it raises a great number of questions, does it not? We will not know what the hotel will look like by the time the duration of our stay has elapsed.
Regardless, it is a point of curiosity. Perhaps more information shall be granted to us in the following weeks...
Dimitri Alexandre Blaiddyd showed us a paper that he retrieved on his excursion as well, though I do not entirely know what to make of it just yet.
week 1, post-execution
where is he!!
mikazuki is bringing along two to-go cups....]

he's not trying to hide or anything, so he'll greet jiji with a nod when he spots him ]
Mikazuki.
[ but that is about all he has in him right now ]
no subject
mikazuki will just go to sit next to him then, and place the two cups in between them.]
Cloud Strife. [gently]
To your left is tea. To your right is sake, a type of alcoholic beverage.
[both just in to-go cups..... but otherwise he will say little and just sit next to cloud, looking at the flowers]

... Drank enough yesterday. She'd be pissed if I got drunk now, anyway.
[ maybe, maybe not. he thinks she'd just judge him, probably, but it's as good an excuse as any. he's not as much of a drinker as he pretends to be, if he is honest. ]
... But... thanks.
[ he is still a little confused ]
no subject
mikazuki will pull his gaze from the flowers back toward cloud at the note of gratitude - ]
You are welcome.
[and then looking back upon the flowers]
Does something perplex you?
no subject
... I guess I wasn't expecting you to bring me anything.
[ he doesn't know how to word it in a way that doesn't sound like a weird thing to be surprised about. ]
no subject
[he doesn't sound actually amused or anything - but the laughter fills the space between them nonetheless]
I simply did not wish to approach you empty-handed.
no subject
anyway cloud squints a little at jiji, like trying to understand why that would be ]
... Well, I don't charge for this kind of thing. So you don't need an offering if you want to talk. [ he is trying for a joke. he is bad at them. ]
no subject
... it is not a matter of charge - simply that I am fond of bringing things to my friends sometimes, instead of always waiting to be seen to.
Would it be more agreeable to you, if we talked?
[he was fine just sitting in silence with the flowers to be honest]
no subject
... I just figured it's why you sought me out. I don't exactly have a lot to say. About...
[ he gestures vaguely. this? weekend? Sure ]
no subject
Hmm... No, I cannot say that I am looking to hear any words from you -
Only that, if you would allow it, perhaps you might not be left alone to your thoughts.
no subject
[ jiji have higher standards. cloud says it a little awkward and unsure but it's more about the sentiment being new. he looks out at the flowers for a little while before offering; ]
They're not that bad. My, uh. My thoughts. You don't have to worry about that.
no subject
[softly, sincerely.]
Are they heavy?
no subject
[ he's still looking at the flowers ]
no subject
Oh? At who?
no subject
no subject
[he says, calmly, but there is a thin line of tension underneath his words]
What shall we do about it?
no subject
[ it's said quietly ]
We've got six more weeks. Plenty of time to figure out a way to get out of here with everyone, dead, hostage, whatever, and show them just where they can shove that contract.
no subject
[thoughtfully,]
Might you have inquired about the text of the contract? There is a bit about 'check out' that I find curious.

Curious wording... given prior experiences where the souls of the departed are held somewhere before returning to the living... mostly. [thots happened]
But I do not know how much we can ensure that process from this side.
no subject
But then again, there's nothing in the contract guaranteeing we'll be able to when we get there.
no subject
Regardless, it is a point of curiosity. Perhaps more information shall be granted to us in the following weeks...

The hangman? Or did they get another one?
no subject
My immediate guess is that Vulpecula and Lepus were playing a game, but that is perhaps just a first impression.
