It catches me off guard, sometimes. That some of you do want my assistance. The people I speak to, if they do not see me as their ruler then they do not tend to...like me overmuch.

Though it was different on the station and perhaps it has been different in other places, too.

In the Realm, people showed up because I was one of the Leaders, so it made sense. But I don't usually make a great first impression on people. [ there's another pause before he admits; ] I don't always try that hard to, either.

Trying's exhausting. I don't know how people do it. [ he's a bit embarrassed too, hence the. going back to talking about how hard people are. ]

Bleh. [solid agreement.] I understand the rules of protocol, but people who insist on getting to know you and having to get along are so exhausting.

Right. Why is it so hard to just say what you need to and move on?

Well. I suppose everyone has different skillsets. There is value in those who know how to make frivolous conversation, too.

Yeah. Mainly, if they're around, we won't have to.

[ he is joking. literally everyone he knows make small talk. it's horrible. ]

You jest, but I have sent Mollymauk before to talk to people where I'm aware a conversation has to happen.

... That sounds like something that wouldn't always work out.

Well, certainly not in every case. But it has its uses. You can send him to nicely ask someone to please not revenge kill us, things like that.

You have to use him to make that request a lot?

Yeah. But I thought you said your station wasn't as bad on people reacting to you, too.

We did still help put some people to death, however.

Right. Trying to make sure their friends didn't get mad back?

Exactly. How effective he was I could not say. I did not get revenge murdered.

Then I'd say either he was pretty effective, or no one was thinking of revenge murdering you. Not exactly something you'd want to test by not continuing to make him ask.
