Oh. After I met him, I suggested a bunch of names and he only stopped snarling at me when I said that one. So you could say he picked it himself!

... I guess that's... fine?

[ he is thinking all the other names must've been terrible. he stares at porridge some more but makes no move to approach. this is not because he is scared, this is because animals are part of the group of people who think his charisma is sometimes 2 and sometimes 20. ]

Why wouldn't it be?

[after noticing him staring:]

You can pet him, if you want.

... Probably a bad idea. I don't have the best track record with pets.

I mean, I'm not going to force you or anything, buuuut he likes pretty much anyone.

People always say that, and then I wind up chasing a cat through half a city.

[ but like. fine. he will go over and put a hand over the dragon. and then hesitate there. unpetting. ]

[porridge looks up at him and makes a curious chirping noise.]

Don't worry, I won't let him out of the room! Pretty sure he wants you to pet him, though.

[ he is so expecting this dragon to bite. but it's fine. he has gloves on.

he very warily... holds out his hand to the dragon like you would a feral cat. ]

How'd you get a dragon, anyway?

[agleam]

[porridge lightly headbutts him in the hand. he demands pets.]

Oh, we were traveling through a forest and we had to take shelter in a cave because of a storm once. We found his egg in there and it hatched not long after.

[ cloud... pets the porridge. gently. hesitantly. like he has never pet a creature before. ]

Didn't see any sign of the parent anywhere?

[agleam]

[happy dragon noises ensue. it is very cute.]

No, we aren't sure what happened to it... But we've been raising him since that.

[ it IS cute. cloud is kind of enamored but refuses to show it. instead he just. keeps petting the dragon ]

Guess that explains why he's so friendly. How long has it been now?

[agleam]

Uh... Two months in the school, and then four months back home, so - six altogether now.

So you'd just gotten the dragon when you went to that murder school?

[ which is for murders ]

[agleam]

Yeah, about a day or two before. So he was really young when we both got there.

Hm.

[ he scritches the dragon under the chin? do dragons like this. porridge is getting a spa treatment. ]

Must've been weirder for him to go back.

[agleam]

[porridge accepts all scritches equally. his tail swishes back and forth a little.]

Yeah... But there's a lot more space back home, so I think he liked it a lot better there. Hopefully it'll get less cramped here as the weeks go by.

Yeah. ... Guess we've at least got the outdoors now, even if they're...

[ summer camp? themed? he has no idea what a summer camp is. ]

Really weird. And I think it might be where one of the other things was set.

Oh - did someone tell you that? I hadn't realized that yet.

Tsurumaru talked about a camp, and I'm pretty sure I saw someone try to burn it down.

Compared to everything else here? About a five.
