Nothing much. [ not that there's ever much, but-- ] There was a crackling noise. It almost covered up the sounds of someone gasping for breath. Crackling continued, but... they stopped.

I'm thinking there might have been another fire, but it could be anything.

[he's quiet for a few moments.]

We shall find out soon enough if there was, I think. From what I have heard, there was a strange smell in one of the rooms; it could well have been something burning.

Great. So it's a race against the clock to make sure the evidence doesn't burn.

Even if it's not fire, something with a weird smell is concerning in general. [ a beat ] Unless it's some of the stuff from that drug room.

That is where it was, but Mollymauk described it as smelling bad, and I would assume he would know if it was a normal scent for that room...

At least the weed part of it. [ there is no weed in final fantasies. rip. ] But... a fire in that place makes sense. There's a source for it. And if more than a few of those things started smoking at the same time...
