Yeah, I'd bet this doesn't make it easy. [ taps. the eye that kaeya does not have. that cloud now has! wild. eye loss. ] It's fine. Daggers aren't mine, either. Maybe we should've thought about switching. I've used guns before, even if they're not my favorite.
Damn depth perception. Somehow sword play suits me far better, and I've learned how to maneuver with the handicap.
These places really do love taking our eyes out, though. [ he points to a scar on his visible eye, one that cuts just above and just beneath. ] Careful, they might try for the other one.
[ please don't make me think about how the mods told me i could have an eye scar and my eyes are still glazing over trying to figure out what "shot out eye scar" would look like. cloud looks at it with a hum and a nod ]
Probably the sword's easier to direct because you can feel it. Aiming a gun's more annoying even when you've got both eyes. [ he tilts his head ] You get that one in one of the death doors?
Yeah. But... it was different last time. [ he shakes his head ] Whatever memories I saw then, I didn't remember. Couldn't. Us "hosts" gave them up before everything even started.
All my memories came back by the end of everything. [ well. so he thinks. ] So now instead of seeing things I can't remember that don't make sense since half of it felt like static to me, I just get the regular version of it.
[ he does not care for the regular version of it. which is tragic, honestly, because it is coming. give me a mood for a memory char ]
Pretty much. Part of it was probably to sell the bit, but the reasoning we were given... It meant we gave them up willingly to slow the loss of memories from the people on our team. Sort of an exchange kind of deal. It was the only way they could exist in the Realm without totally losing themselves immediately.
[ sometimes you have a lot of weird backstory to explain memloss murder. also you said bittersweet and rude to cloud so suddenly there is some stardust from the ceiling and here's a nice hug between friends :). ]
[ this is a memory that speaks volumes of emotion, and kaeya isn't sure how to process it. the moment is intimate in its own particular way, and as it fades, he looks to cloud with a softened expression, smiling faintly. ]
week 1, saturday
Kaeya. Hey.

Cloud, [ a slight smile. ] How's getting back onto your feet...?
no subject
[ he peers at him curiously for a second ]
Feeling better?
[ he heard you being emo on thursday kaeya ]
no subject
I was...
[ he laughs ]
I'm fine. Thanks. I'm just glad you're back. It would have been rather disappointing so soon after going through all of [ waves a hand ] that.

I'll make you a drink when you decide you want one. I owe you for... everything back there. [ You Know. ]

Depends what "everything" stands for. If it's a guilt thing, save it. Wasn't your fault.

Guns aren't really my specialty...

Sorry. Nothing against you. Just been having... a long day.
[ because i keep setting up memshare pcs so he is waiting for it now ]
no subject
Want to talk about it?
[ today has been... a day. ]
Or not? This effect is... invasive. As always.
no subject
no subject
That's... rather awful.
So how is it working for you now, precisely? Are you... remembering things now?

kaeya does hum softly, considering. ]
Why did you have to give them up? I take it that was part of being a "host"...

It's a difficult thing, to lose a home...
She's dear to you?
no subject
She's... a friend. We grew up in the same place.
no subject
What ended up happening to it...?
no subject
To which one?
no subject
The one closest to your hearts.
